Newman Health & Wellbeing, as a member of the Living Well consortium, is able to offer free short term counselling to people with a Birmingham GP struggling as a result of the Covid-19 situation.
The Counselling & Psychotherapy service, which is normally based on the campus of Newman University, can offer free short-term counselling by telephone or video call to people who are struggling with the different aspects of the outbreak of the Coronavirus. This can be around health related anxieties, isolation, worries related to changes in work/finances, or loss. This support is offered by experienced clinical staff at Newman Health & Wellbeing and the wider support of colleagues at the Consortium
Colette Lewis, Clinical Manager, commented: “When Newman Health & Wellbeing was set up in 2016 it was to be part of our local area in Bartley Green and beyond. During the past three and half years we have supported hundreds of local people, and I am pleased that we can continue to do so during this time”.
