Helping the homeless: it’s in our DNA

We recently helped a homeless man who came into our shop in New Frankley. It emerged he'd been sleeping under a bridge and he was soaked from the rain so we gave him; a coffee and lunch, a thick, warm coat and hat he could keep and bus fare so he could go to Newtown housing option centre to find lodgings. It's why our team never fail to impress, again and again with their commitment to go the extra mile to help other people. It's why NewStarts is so much more than a shop/furniture re-use project. NewStarts is a community hub which people go to because they know we will help them and they are safe with us. Sometimes, they are looking for a bargain, other times, they most want some human contact and warmth.
