Over the past few days I have heard some alarming statistics.
- 26% of loans applied for during April were so that people could buy food!
- One in four families are relying on some form of credit, either cards or loans in order to buy food!
- 59% of those questioned in a survey said that their income had either fallen or disappeared altogether!
- There have been 3.46 million new claims for Universal Credit
As many of you know NewStarts has been operating a food bank for many years, but over the past few months we have increased that area of work.
